WE WANT TO READ YOUR STUFF
(and publish it)
Everyone’s gotta start somewhere, right?
So here’s your chance to take all those blog posts, poems, stories, manuscripts, articles, thoughts and ideas, and send ’em right over. We would be delighted to read and publish you!!! At Boricua Beauty, we embrace creative writing with the passion, fervor and hype that you, my creative genius, so deserve.
SO, HOW DO WE DO THIS?
What you do, is put your work together in a word document ( or a .pdf if it has an unconventional format) you attach that gem, and send it to us via email at email@example.com.
Do not- I repeat- do not write your work directly into the body of the email, don’t be tacky like that. Attach that word file like the real professional that you are.
Is that it? That easy?!
To submit that super duper wondrous work of art that is your writing, there are a couple of protocol “thingies” we have to follow to expose the world to your mind blowing craft. So pay attention:
First things first…
We’re not bots, we have feelings.
It has to be the full name, or pen name, or pseudonym, or that weird nickname you got in high school that you sort of gave into and now it’s a part of your identity and you wanted to get rid of it but changing it now feels weird and you accepted that unavoidable doom that is living with a name like Skidmark or Blackeye, or whatever, you don’t even care anymore.
Please title your work. But if you want to be a rebel, fine, don’t title it, but know that your title will still be “Untitled”and that is still a title, so congratulations your plan backfired.
Tell us if it is Poetry, Fiction or Non-fiction.
- Social Media We want to give you credit and tag the hell out of you so all your friends and frienemies and family and secret stalkers can see that: YES, YOU DID WRITE THAT THING AND WE LOVED IT AND WE WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT!
Right at the top, write your name and the title of your work.
But… I don’t know how to categorize my work…
- Fiction: Any form of prose that describes imaginary events or people (includes scripts or screenplays).
- Non-fiction: Any form of prose that is based on facts, real events, and real people, such as biography or history (includes articles).
- Poetry: literary work in which special intensity is given to the expression of feelings and ideas by the use of distinctive style and rhythm.
English, Spanish, Spanglish, Elvish and Klingon.
We accept a maximum of 10 pages per submission. For those stories with 5+ pages, we will divide your work into 2 or more posts. If you are working poetry, the maximum is 5 poems per submission.
But don’t fret, you can totally submit as many times as you’d like.
That’s it! Get Crackin’
